What if the era of hyper-globalization wasn’t the “end of history”… but a rare historical exception?

In my latest analysis: Globalization as Exception: deep international economic integration only thrives when leaders believe great-power conflict risk is low enough to prioritize efficiency over security.

When that perception shifts? Governments snap back to prioritizing industrial capacity, secure resources, tech leadership, and reliable allies. Supply chains shorten. Trade regionalizes. Efficiency takes a backseat to resilience.

From the first globalization (1870–1914) that masked rising tensions before WWI, through the Cold War blocs, to the post-Soviet euphoria that built our fragile just-in-time world. history shows the pattern clearly.COVID exposed the cracks. Geopolitics is now accelerating the rethink.

What do you think? Is globalization ending, or just pausing? Drop your take below.
